Our Head Coach Jakob Restrepo has been coaching at the High School Level for the past 5 Years at Sachem East, East Islip and Westhampton Beach. Before Prime, Coach Restrepo coached at the prestigious Barn Brothers Wrestling Club under NCAA All-American Mike Patrovich, and Vougars Honors Wrestling under Olympian and World Champion Vougar Oroudjov. With a heavy background in Folkstyle and Freestyle training under Long Island's finest, Coach Restrepo utilizes the same principles to build champions today.
Coach Restrepo wrestled for Sachem East High School where we was a 2x Section XI Champion, 2x Eastern States Champion, 2x New York State Finalist 1x New York State Champion. On the National Scene, Restrepo was a 2x Freestyle Fargo National All American (8th, 5th) , 16u US World Team Trials All American (4th), and a 3x Folkstyle Nationals All American (8th, 6th, 4th).
Coach Restrepo went on to wrestle Division 1 at the University of Maryland on a scholarship, where he competed in the Big Ten Conference.
Coach Smith from Hauppauge, New York wrestled for the Hauppauge Eagles in High School where he went on to be a 3x Section XI Finalist, 1x Section XI Champion, and 3x New York State All-State Place Winner. After High School Coach Smith went on to wrestle Division 1 at Binghamton University and compete in the EIWA conference.

The top wrestlers who go on to wrestle in college all have one thing in common, they wrestle year round 4-5 times per week. The mat time developed over the course of a year far outweighs the mat time of a typical high school season.
